August 26th is Women's Equality Day: a day to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of women gaining the right to vote!
All though we are able to vote, women still have a long way to go to be truly equal. So, this month we donated to the non-profit, Dress for Success.
Dress for Success is a transformative nonprofit dedicated to empowering women by providing them with the essential tools and support needed to achieve economic independence. With a commitment to gender equality, the organization offers a comprehensive range of services, including professional attire for interviews and employment, mentorship, and career development programs. Since its inception in 1997, Dress for Success has positively impacted over a million women worldwide, helping them break the cycle of poverty and establish successful careers.
Statistics underscore the effectiveness of their approach; research shows that program participants experience higher rates of employment retention and advancement. Notably, over 70% secure employment within just three months. Beyond immediate job placement, women who engage with Dress for Success report increased confidence, refined skills, and improved ability to support their families. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term success, the organization empowers women to create better futures for themselves and their communities.
